Smart-Bond
HS Polymer Encapsulating Absorbent has the ability
to bond with synthetic and organic hydrocarbon spills including motor
oils, brake fluids, transmission fluids and most liquid hydrocarbons,
to form a solid mass. The bonding, encapsulating and solidification
can be accomplished on hard surfaces and in water, producing a solid
and manageable waste product that will not drip. The hardened waste
product usually appears within 10 to 15 minutes after application,
or sooner. The encapsulating process between the liquid hydrocarbon
and the polymer begins immediately on contact. Suitable for use on
concrete, asphalt and even sand.

Based on multiple independent studies,
that the polymers far exceed the physical properties and capabilities
of the conventional products such as cellulose, spun poly-propylene,
ethylene, saw dust, peat-moss, ground foams, clay based absorbents and
other such products. Smart-Bond provides the only acceptable environmentally
sensible alternative to clays, mineral grains, polypropylenes &
various silica combinations.
FACTS:

• Smart Bond used eight (8) 3” x 10’
socks.....Generates less than a cubic yard.
• Competitors used forty-one (41) 3” x 10’
socks.....Generates more than 2 1/2 yards of Cubic waste.
Tests
show: that 40grams of Smart Bond Polymer will absorb, encapsulate
and solidify 150millilitres of oil.In comparison, it would take
400grams of “Speddi -Dri” to absorb the same amount
of oil, which would produce 10 times more hazardous waste. (Smart
Bond Polymers produce non-hazardous waste and can be used as landfills.)

A
Series for aqueous liquids and water soluble
hydrocarbons, (e.g.Engine Coolant, (Glycol), Acids, Caustics, Bodily
Fluids, Methanol, Cutting Fluids).
Smart-Bond AA
• A Series Encapsulating Polymer solidifies
and stabilises hazardous liquids.
• Series A Polymer has a typical absorption
rate of up to 300 times its own weight in neutral water.
• The A Series Polymer will absorb water from
organic or synthetic hydrocarbons, removing water from the hydrocarbons.
• Smart-Bond absorbs heavy metals and other
dissolved solids that may be in liquid.
• Smart-Bond will encapsulate any liquid with
a Ph of 3 or above.
• When incinerated, Smart-Bond produces no
ash.
• Smart-Bond Aqueous is hydrophilic. (No weighting
is required.)
• Fast acting & safe. Encapsulation, stabilisation,
immobilisation & solidification begins immediately.
• Forms a solid mass that is non-hazardous
and safe to transport and dispose.
• All water will be released at various rates
of evaporation, based upon ambient temperature and humidity,
leaving a hard diamond like granular texture that can be disposed
of safely.
• Safe to use as landfill. As a landfill waste,
the polymer will never leach or release any of the encapsulated
material.
• Indefinite shelf life and a microbiological
half-life in excess of 400 years.

(1)The
A Series is added first and because it is heavier than water it
sinks to the bottom and begins to bond with the water.
(2) Next the H Series is added and because it is heavier than
oil it remains on the surface.
(3) Any oil separates from the water and rises to the surface.
(4) Resultant waste can be processed separately.
